Since 1978, the Texas Symposium has the tradition of moving around the globe and taking place at various cities. Bohemia (Czech Republic) has always had a rich history in the context of physics, astronomy, and gravitation theory with names of Kepler, Doppler, Mach, Einstein and others having made their discoveries there. In 2021, this historic tradition will be complemented by a Texas Symposium coming to Prague, the country's capital.
Prague is one of the most popular destinations for tourists in Europe, it is often called “the city of a hundred spires” and much of its appeal lies in the medieval architecture. The valley of Vltava river with its beautiful bridges, the cathedrals, castles and palaces make much of the beauty of the city.
Advent time in Prague is one of the best season of the year. Czech Christmas markets are considered some of the most beautiful in the whole of Europe. If there is snow, the atmosphere is even more enthralling. In particular, Prague Christmas Market ranks among the most charming in the world according to a wide poll made by USA Today. Illuminated with thousands of beautiful lights, an advent village with stalls packed full of treats or traditional Christmas goods makes charm and unique atmosphere. The sweet-smell of punch and mulled wine wafts throughout all the old Prague city.
Prague hosts a large number of international conferences every year, providing high standard conference venues, easy connectivity with major airport hubs, a wide range of accommodation, and a number of cultural activities. It is easy to reach from most European capitals near and far and has direct flight connections to many foreign destination including overseas, both east and west.
